    “Massino Visconti ist ein ruhiges Dorf am Berghang des südlichen Lago Maggiore (Westufer) mit wunderschönem Blick auf den See.

    Malerisch sind eine alte Villa der Visconti, die aber allmählich zu verfallen scheint, und der "schiefe Turm" von Massino Visconti. Die Häuser sehen zum Großteil sehr gepflegt aus, die Gässchen im Ortskern sind teilweise eng und verwinkelt.

    Massino Visconti ist so klein, dass es selbst keine nennenswerte Infrastruktur hat. Im Ortskern gibt es ein Tabaklädchen, eine Bar und ein Restaurant, am Ortseingang eine Apotheke und ein weiteres Restaurant. Um Einkäufe zu erledigen oder um an den See zu kommen, ist man auf ein Auto angewiesen.

    Wenn man an den See möchte, sollte man nicht zu spät am Tag starten, da die Parkplätze in der Nähe des Sees und rund um die Anlegestellen der Fähren sonst evtl. schon belegt sind (zumindest in der Hauptsaison). Außerdem muss man aufgrund des Straßenzustands und des Verkehrsaufkommens in Ufernähe des Sees immer damit rechnen, dass man für die Strecken länger braucht und dementsprechend mehr Zeit einplanen.”
