Denmark’s mild east coast is home to some of the most child friendly beaches in Northern Europe, and the bathing water here is warmer than the North Sea coastline to the west. Located where the Limfjord meets the Kattegat Sound, the village of Hals is characterized by small, charming streets and a good assortment of shops and specialist boutiques. During the summer months, business shifts outdoors and Hals plays host to one of a number of weekly markets held in this region. These local markets are always worth a visit, both to find a bargain and to watch the bustle of commerce. Furthermore, despite its peaceful surroundings, Hals is just 30 minutes by car from the bustling port city of Aalborg.
