The hotel Emmerlev dating back to 1950, was rebuilt in 2010 into a large, cosy estate which can house 32 people. It has 16 bedrooms, 6 on the ground floor and 10 on the first floor, out of which 6 of them have private balconies with sea views. All 10 rooms on the first floor have their own bathroom. In addition, the first floor also houses the panorama room with a fantastic view of the sea and the surroundings. You can relax in the spa area on the ground floor. The major attractions of the house are the 50 square metre swimming pool (which is up to 2 metres deep), the hot tub for 6 people, the sauna, the soothing steam bath and the sandwich solarium. In the hall there is table football, table tennis and air hockey. In the huge 'Slyngelstue' you can spend many pleasant hours at the bar, play pool or just relax on the very comfortable furniture and chat. The separate kitchen is equipped with a large gas stove, two refrigerators and two dishwashers. From the south-facing living room and the covered terrace that faces the parking lot, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the banks and the sluice in Højer and the islands of Sylt and Rømø. Behind the property there is a garden with plenty of privacy. The garden also has a small playground with swings and a sandpit. You can order breakfast (to be agreed with the owner) for DKK 80 per day / person. The house is situated in a great location in a conservation area with a rich birdlife. which will delight ornithologists. Here one can experience the 'sort sol', which can be seen in spring and autumn, when flocks of starlings create fascinating patterns in the sky and even block out the sun. They fly over Tøndermarken before landing on the ground. Nearby there are several recreational activities and attractions, such as the cultural centre of Løgumkloster and the ancient ruins at Trøjborg, which is even said to be haunted. A visit to the oldest provincial town of Tønder is certainly an unforgettable experience. Some museums and several restaurants are located here. The Castle Church in Møgeltønder and the Park of the Schackenborg Castle are worth visiting. Do not miss a visit to the Wadden Sea National Park, which offers more nature experiences than anywhere else in Denmark. The border with Germany is about 10 km away from here.     “Bis auf ein paar Missverständnisse, was die Schlüsselübergabe anging, waren wir sehr zufrieden. Das Haus ist zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber was die Sauberkeit anging, konnten wir absolut nichts beanstanden. Sanitäre Anlagen und Zimmer waren sauber. Die Einrichtung ist Geschmackssache und könnte sicher moderner sein, dennoch hat es einen gewissen Charme und wird mit Leben gefüllt wirklich gemütlich. Die Matratzen wirken im ersten Test etwas durchgelegen, aber nach der ersten Nacht war klar, dass wir alle wunderbar geschlafen haben, was sich die ganze Woche fortsetzte. Das Haus ist groß und geräumig und bietet viele Möglichkeiten. Wir sind eine Jugendwohngruppe und waren mit 8 Jugendlichen und 6 Betreuern dort (also insgesamt 14 Personen), wodurch jeder sein Zimmer als Einzelzimmer nutzen konnte und wir wirklich sehr viel Platz hatten. Swimming Pool und Wellness-Bereich waren ebenfalls in einem tadellosen Zustand und die Vermieterin war wirklich sehr nett. Wenn es ein Problem gab (das Gas in der Küche ging uns aus) wurde dieses sehr schnell behoben. Wir haben eine sehr schöne Woche dort verbracht :) Im Meer zu Baden ist hinter dem Haus nicht möglich, da es keinen richtigen Badestrand gibt. Im ca. 45 km entfernten Romo gibt es aber einen wunderschönen und riesigen Sonderstrand, den man mit dem Auto befahren kann.”
