At the end of 2014 we bought an old house in Idar-Oberstein at the foot of the Schlossberg. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century and was a costume jewelry and chain factory until the 1960s. The bright and idiosyncratically winding rooms are spread over about 360 sqm and have a very special charm for us, which inspired us very much. In the course of the renovation we tried to revive the old furniture and objects we found in the house. With a lot of imagination and attention to detail, we have succeeded in 8 years to create, in addition to our private apartment, 2 vacation apartments.


In a relaxed atmosphere and central location, we offer you a 50 m² non-smoking flat in our "Ferien-Fabrik", for max. 3 persons, incl. parking space. The flat is located on the sunny side of the Schlossberg, and offers a beautiful view over the Oberstein district. Bicycles and motorbikes with a handlebar width of 95 cm can be stored indoors. There is a separate smoking room on the ground floor. Washing machine and dryer may be used for an extra charge of € 5.

The house is located in the immediate vicinity of the Felsenkirche and the castle (900m). Whether on foot, by bike or with your own car, from here you can easily start your planned excursions into the city, or via numerous hiking trails, into the nearby Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park. The bus stop and train station are just a few minutes' walk away, as are the pedestrian zone, Lidl, bank, bakery, butcher, ice cream parlour and gemstone shops.
